Letterpress Business Cards
Letterpress business cards are unique, handcrafted works of art. This exceptionally precise embossed printing technique has its peculiar charm, making each step of creating a new business card exciting. Each execution is highly intricate and demands exceptional attention to detail, but the final result is always worth the effort. Letterpress printing on business cards provides an unparalleled depth and texture that you cannot achieve with other printing techniques. We use machines over 100 years old to create business cards that impress your clients. We particularly recommend one-sided designs because they allow for full-depth embossing. If you’re looking for business cards that capture attention and set you apart, letterpress business cards are the perfect choice.

Design Tips
Text size:
When preparing the project, try to visually assess whether the font size will not be too small. Typically, we recommend a minimum font size of around 6-7pt, but each font should be approached individually.
Text color:
The sharpest and most clear text comes out in black.
Safety margin:
Due to inevitable shifts during the production process, avoid placing important content within a distance less than 3mm from the cutting edge.
Bleed:
Bleed refers to elements extending beyond the cutting lines and the final dimensions of the business card. If any graphics are to be printed to the edge, extend them beyond the cutting area by 3mm on each side.
Graphic elements:
Letterpress printing requires only vector files. Ensure they are not too large, as artifacts may be visible from the other side of the business card. As a rule of thumb, we advise that large elements should not exceed 20-30% of the card's surface and should not extend into the edges (preferably not at all) – the paper may warp in these areas during die-cutting.
Frames:
Due to cutting tolerances, avoid placing frames too close to the edges. 5mm is an absolute minimum.
Printing specifics:
Depending on the substrate, colors may appear differently in print than in the color chart (not to mention on your monitor). Remember that letterpress printing is a craft technique. This means that all business cards will differ, for example, in color saturation, and characteristic artifacts may appear during the printing process (e.g., ink smudges). We love these minor nuances in this technique, but some may surprise you slightly if you have yet to experience letterpress printing. Therefore, in case of any doubts, please get in touch with us, and we will be happy to answer any questions.
